Challenge
Wolf Resources faced a difficulty in trying to lower field operation costs while still running a secure and eco-friendly operation. In the past, Wolf Resources monitored tank levels remotely using Skybitz tank level monitors. The major concerns were maintaining a reliable tank level reading while also receiving superb customer service when products failed to record accurate readings.

It is dangerous and time-consuming to travel to very remote locations, especially in the winter or during bad weather. The system checks could be forgotten, erroneous, or missed if staff members are under pressure.

Solution
Since 2022, Wolf Resources has been using TankScan submersible pressure tank level monitors on their remote chemical tanks, which they use to coat materials to withstand heat. The remote monitoring system leverages existing wireless cellular infrastructure and a cloud software application to eliminate large startup and setup costs associated with other solutions. The installation requires screwing the monitor into a 2” port on the top of the tank and waking up the battery with a single swipe with the magnetic wand. The cloud application is set up remotely and offers unlimited users, historical trending, and email/text notifications.

The tank levels are viewed from a field operator’s cell phone or from a PC at a remote office. The system is cost-effective due to its use of existing infrastructure of the internet connectivity, internet browser, email, text message, and cloud computing. The user is provided with accurate readings to smartphones and PCs they already own, understand, and support.
