Press Releases
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Sept. 06, 2016) – ATEK Access Technologies today announced that its TankScan and AssetScan solutions are now connected with the John Deere Operations Center through John Deere’s API services. These solutions enable farmers and service providers to receive alerts in the Operations Center when remote assets require attention based on sensor readings.
“Agriculture can benefit greatly from data collected by the Internet of Things,” said Sherri McDaniel, president of ATEK Access Technologies. “From simple monitoring and alerting, to utilizing combinations of GPS, weather, yield maps, drone data and more, TankScan and AssetScan can provide farmers with valuable information to optimize land utilization, equipment, resources and people all from the John Deere Operations Center.”
The TankScan monitoring system provides the tools necessary to accurately monitor fluid levels in multiple tanks, across numerous sites, from anywhere an Internet connection is available. Farmers can view their entire tank management system in the Operations Center, thanks to the TankScan solution. TankScan also allows farmers to connect tank data to fuel suppliers and send inventory alerts to the Operations Center, preventing a costly run out.
Soil moisture is a critical element for a successful harvest. Not enough and plants do not thrive, too much and machinery can become mired in mud. The ability to connect to a wide variety of sensors allows AssetScan to be employed to monitor a field drainage system, providing a historical record of activity and sending alerts to the Operations Center when conditions exceed user-defined thresholds. The AssetScan solution provides a grower with the capability to monitor any aspect of an operation, from temperatures, pressures, flow rates, to simple on/off indications, all from the convenience of the Operations Center
The Operations Center on MyJohnDeere.com is a set of online tools that centralize the accessibility of farm information. Tools in the Operations Center provide growers with the ability to see what is happening on their farm while learning from their performance over time. There, growers can collaborate with partners to make decisions and gain insights that increase performance and profitability. They can then use the tools to direct their plans in the field with confidence, easily adjusting as conditions change.
